With over 40 years’ experience in the Building, Construction and Engineering Industries, Steve Abbott has worked through the Construction Industry from Carpenter to senior management positions within some of the largest construction organisations in Asia Pacific.
During the first 20 years of his career in construction his responsibilities ranged from the delivery of individual major projects to the management of complete business units for major construction organisations. Steve is an accomplished and sought-after construction expert specialising in the areas of time (delay analysis), disruption, quantum, quality of product and construction process/project delivery.
He has provided expert witness services in relation some of the largest construction disputes in the region. Steve has authored expert reports and testified in Arbitrations (including International Arbitrations), Litigation, Expert Determinations, Mediations and most other legal jurisdictions in the region. He has provided expert witness services on some of the largest building, construction and engineering projects across Australia together with major projects internationally including New Zealand, Macau, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the United Kingdom.
Steve is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Building, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Project Management, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, a Member of the Resolution Institute (Formally Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators Australia), a Member of the Society of Construction Law, a Member of the Australian Property Council, a Member of the Master Builders Association of NSW, Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and a Member of AACE International. Steve is also a qualified and practicing Mediator, Expert Determiner and graded Arbitrator.
